See where the money goes, and what is ahead.
slvnt Ledger reads your bank and credit card statements, shows where the money goes, and plans what is coming — with every import reviewed by you before it counts.
Ledger is in limited release. Existing accounts can sign in today; new accounts are being opened from the waitlist.
How it works
Three steps, and the middle one is the point. Statement parsing is never perfect, so nothing reaches your ledger until you have looked at it.
-
Upload a statement
A PDF or a CSV export, straight from your bank. Parsing runs in the background, so a slow file does not hold up the page.
-
Review what it found
Every extracted line is shown before anything is recorded. Correct one, exclude one, or commit the lot. Nothing is imported behind your back.
-
See what is ahead
Recurring bills, a projected balance with an honest uncertainty band, what is safe to spend, and budget envelopes that carry over.
What it gets right
Most of the difficulty in a tool like this is arithmetic that goes wrong quietly. These are the places it does, and what Ledger does about each.
-
Statements are checked, not trusted
Opening balance plus movements must equal the closing balance, and the opening must match what the account already held. A statement that does not reconcile is flagged rather than imported.
-
Nothing is counted twice
Moving money to savings is not spending, and paying a credit card bill is not a second purchase. Transfers between your own accounts are excluded from both income and expenditure.
-
Re-uploading is safe
Statements overlap at period boundaries and people re-upload files. Duplicates are recognised on the server and ignored, while two genuinely identical purchases on the same day both survive.
-
Recurring bills, matched
Real recurrence rules, including the last working day of the month and every four weeks. Ledger tells you whether the salary arrived and whether the electricity came in over.
-
Prices change without rewriting history
A bill that goes up gets a new version with an effective date. January keeps January's price, and last year's charts do not move.
-
Credit cards modelled properly
What you owe, when it is repaid, at what share of the bill, and the interest on the rest — so card spending lands in the month the bill is actually settled.
-
Budgets that carry over
Envelope buckets with rollover, by percentage or fixed amount. A late statement recalculates every month after it and tells you which ones moved.
-
Deleting a statement undoes it
Every imported transaction remembers the document and the line it came from, so removing a statement cleanly reverses what it added.
What it reads
These formats have been built and checked against real exports. Anything else goes through a format-tolerant reader, which does a reasonable job and shows you exactly what it made of the file before anything is recorded.
- AIB current account — PDF statements
- AIB credit card — PDF statements
- Revolut — CSV exports, with the time of day preserved
- Revolut — PDF statements
- Other layouts — a general reader, with the same review step
What it does not do
Worth being straight about, because some of these are things you might reasonably assume.
- It does not connect to your bank. There is no open banking integration and Ledger never asks for your banking credentials. You upload the statements your bank already gives you.
- It does not track you. No analytics, no advertising, no third-party scripts. This page loads nothing from anywhere else.
- It does not send your data to an AI service. Categorisation is a small model trained on the same server that holds your data. Nothing is sent to an external provider.
- It does not import anything on its own. There is no automatic commit. A person presses the button.
- It does not read scanned statements. Text-based PDFs and CSV exports only — there is no OCR.
- It does not do mobile apps or alerts yet. Ledger is a web application and sends no notifications.
What it costs
The free tier carries the whole core loop — statements in, reviewed, committed, categorised, with safe-to-spend over a short horizon. It is limited in volume, never in correctness.
- Free
- Two accounts, six statement uploads a month, and thirty days of projection. Categorisation, transfer detection, deduplication, budgets and the review step are all included.
- Beyond that
- Unlimited accounts and uploads, a long projection horizon, scenario previews, the credit-card payoff walk, and a categorisation model trained on your own history.
Billing is not live. There is nothing to pay for today and nothing on this site takes a payment. When it does, card details will be handled entirely by the payment provider — Ledger will never hold them.
